HISTORY

Since its first edition in 2001, the festival has grown in terms of dimensions, contents, audience and media interest: starting from 6 documentary films and 300 visitors, it reached 60 documentary films and fictions with national previews and more than 30.000 visitors. Since 2006 the film program has been enriched by a music and contemporary art program. Also the involvement of worldwide renowned hosts has increased, ranging from film directors, speakers and members of the jury (among others: the Nobel Prizes Luis Sepulveda, Dario Fo e Wislawa Szimborska, the film directors and producers Fernando Solanas, Gianni Minà, Avi Mograbi, Elia Sivan, Saverio Costanzo, Gianfranco Rosi, Cesar Brie, Fabrizio Grosoli, Laura Marcellino, the writers Carlo Lucarelli, Pino Cacucci, Marcello Flores, the journalists Rula Jebreal, Roberto Silvestri, the festival directors Marco Müller, Arabi Mocheke, Keith Shiri, Kebour Ghenna, Humberto Mancilla, Julio Santucho, the actors Mohamed Bakri, Chiwetel Ejiofor and important characters of the cinema and cultural scene of the city of Bologna like Vittorio Boarini, Chiara Segafredo, Guy Lydster, Dim Sampaio, Aliona Shumakova, Elfi Reiter, Gianni Sofri, Matilde Callari Galli, Roberto Grandi, Anna Maria Gentili, Andrea Segrè).
