In the east of Algeria, a family is preparing for "Aid el Kebir", the festival at which sheep are sacrificed. The father hasn't long to live, and wants to see his youngest daughter, Hanifa, married. In this crisis-stricken country and this morbid atmosphere, Hanifa faces a difficult choice� and opts for love.
Karin Albou made her first short film 'Chut' in 1992, followed by 'Mon pays m'a quitte', a documentary broadcast on national television. Since 1999 she has taught direction at the ELCAR school. At present she is working on ther first feature film, 'Le Chant de Mariees'
